"Do you love me yet?"

Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ88oTITMoM  (Lou Reed: Walk on the Wild Side) Here we go

A dissonant land
Where Angles
Gladly traded
Hollow wings
For piercing
Ivory horns
So piercing
But
Ever so pretty
Ever
So
Pretty

“Do you love me yet?”

Hands of the abhorrent one
Perched before paper
Longed to answer
But
Longed to tell the truth
Heavy movements
Laden, considered
He knows his words are
So piercing
But
Ever so pretty
Ever
So
Pretty

“Do you love me yet?”

She arrived home
As she always did
Five minutes before
The Emotional closing time
“You can feel what you want,
Just can’t feel it here.”
A fine house
So piercing
But
Ever so pretty
Ever
So
Pretty

“Do you love me yet?”

Pen lingered on paper
Beckoning visions
She poured a drink
To drown his silent call
In the movement of his pen
And the tilt of her glass
Images frozen
So piercing
But
Ever so pretty
Ever
So
Pretty

“Do you love me yet?”

Silent Subtext

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjPau5QYtYs&feature=autoplay&list=AVGxdCwVVULXehYS0Ie6c6pnfwoPJia-S3&lf=list_related&playnext=2 (Safety Dance)

“This is dangerous business we are in”
A muttered phrase
Casually said
Meant for something else

Possibly

Shared smirk
Returned
By eyes beckoning
By eyes hungry

Silent meaning
All of its own
Created and
Carried retreat
From reality barbaric
To a soundless shore
shared
Only by the two

Silent subtext
Hidden subterfuge
Hearts quickened
Pulses raced
In the simmering smolder
Begun by
The burning for the other

All unsaid
All unsaid

Passing crowds
Never Suspecting
The hidden inferno
Raging in
Racing hearts
Caught in the undercurrent
Pulling the two
Ever deeper
Into the silent drowning
In the passion filled sea
Of the silent subtext

The Four Letter Word

Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKq2_Mz6HMA (Sting Fragile)

A four letter word
First utilized
By immature tongues
Hushed, harsh, stammering

Knowing little
But power undeniable
Or what was felt
As the word passed
And its effect

Sometimes shock
Nervous giggle
Sometimes disgust
With a walk away

But sometimes…
Sometimes
A step was taken towards
With inviting lips
And hungry eyes

The dangerous four letter word:
Love
When accompanied by a five letter word
Truth
A revolutionary manifesto issued
Signed in the fusion
Of forged hearts

A sanctified contract
Unbreakable
Though attempts to forget
Might be made

It is a lapse
Impossible

Time taken
Or paths pursued
Are of little consequence

Senses are the greatest betrayers
Silent lawyers pleading
A case the heart long believed dismissed

With triggers that make little sense
To those who do not know

It may arrive
As sounds
The tap of a spoon on a glass
The shuffle of feet
Through fallen leaves

A smell
Like the touch of freshly baked croissants
On an autumn morning
Or the trace of comforting fragrance
Wafting in the air

A sight
Like the glimpse of fog covered countryside
On a midnight run
Or a definite table
Empty or full
At a hallowed haunt

Forever evokes
Certain memories
Certianly

For me
The memory most vibrant
Is another five letter word

One may be shocked
Thinking it should be beauty
With its letters six

This is understood
To capture her lithe and supple elegance
Men would gladly throw fortune to the fates
For little more
Than a glance

If one however focused on this
She must remain forever young
Forever her vision of beauty
Even forcing a turn to the blade
To perfect for her
That which nature had already perfected
Sanctified

No
For me
The five letter word
Was laugh

Yes
To me
Tones melodic
Joy unrestrained
Hearts would meet
Unprotected and defenseless

Where
I was little more
Than me

And she
Was little more
Than her

But our little more
Was everything
Everything
In our world populated
by two

Therein was the danger
Therein was the silence

Yet now deprived
And denied
Painful understanding
Of the power of those four letters
And the promised revolution
Of renaissance
Remains stillborn

So
In crumbling facades
Of fragmented empires
May she turn to the light
Of my fragment
Within her heart

And fill the world
Nourish her soul
With the simple beauty
Of her laughter
