Night falls

Music: Afro-Celt Sound system When you're falling remix

Night falls.

She rises.

A fact evident with a glance at the sky.

Yet she stays hidden.  That is her way.  The Moon.  Scantily dressed in the wisp lace of laden clouds.  I am not supposed to see.  Yet I do.  How?  Did she think she could hide from me?  They say love is blind, but friendship always keeps one eye open.  That scares the hell out of her: the moon.

What is she trying to hide?  She is a heavenly body.  That is her blessing.  That is her curse.  Though she beckons all, she will only shine on them … for a time.  In a life of constant phase.  Chameleon change.  Her surface kept lifeless and frozen.  None may know her.  None may see her.  She has been distant so long that she thinks that she only reflects the light of another.

How wrong she is.

The earth and moon used to be one: born in the union of the same primal heat.  They erupted from life.  To give life.  If she listened to the voices of her rocks, she could hear their silent cry for return.  If she looked at her garden, she would see the petals of her flowers opened only at night.  A greeting to please the distant earth in longing memorial.  Of that which was, that which is, and that which will be.  For she lives in phases.

A fact evident with a glance at the sky.

She rises.

Night falls.
