PASS THE POPCORN: Chase

                             ANNOUNCER: (V.O.)
Welcome to Uncle AL’S Amateur Hour.  The place where we show our Talent is not latent.
SETTING:  STAGE WITH PETER SITTING AT THE PIANO VERY BORED LOOKING WHILE VERDA STANDS ON STAGE.  SHE WEARS A MASK OVER HER FACE AND A COWL COVERING HER BODY.  HER WRISTS AND ANKLES ARE BOUND TO ROPES ATTACHED TO BRICKS ON THE GROUND. 
                        ANNOUNCER: (V.O.)
Our first act, Peter Camin, and Verdad Svboda playing and dancing to see if they Can-Can.

PETER MOVES HANDS DOWN TO PLAY THE PIANO HALTS AND FLIPS HIS HANDS OVER.
CUT TO:
B&W: PETERS HANDS, BLACK GLOVED HAND GRAPS PETERS WRIST AND PUSHES HIS HAND TO AN INK BLOTTER AND MARKS HIS FINGERPRINT
CUT TO:
PETER SHAKING HIS HEAD A QUICK LOOK UP
CUT TO:
B&W: PETER WITH A PILLOWCASE ON HIS HEAD SEATED IN A CHAIR IN AN INTERROGATION ROOM.  A BROTHER PROTECTOR STANDS WITH A BILLY CLUB PATTING INTO A GLOVED HAND. 
                        BROTHER PROTECTOR
              Looks like little Peter loves to think.

BROTHER PROTECTOR LIFTS BILLY CLUB UP.
                        BROTHER PROTECTOR (CONT’D)
Let’s see what little brother thinks of this then.
CU BILLY CLUB AS IT IS BROUGHT DOWN SPLATTERING OF BLOOD APPEARS ON BUTCHER PAPER PLACED ON WALL.  CLUB GETS BROUGHT DOWN THREE TIMES.
                        BROTHER PROTECOR
              (LAUGHS DIMLY) Where’re your thoughts now?

ON A SHEETPETER BEGINS TO PLAY THE PIANO VERY LAONICALLY, BEARING A PASSIVE LOOK ON HIS FACE. Slow Can-can http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq4XEUbtcXY  VERDAD MEANWHILE, MERELYS SHUFFLES BACK AND FORTH POINTING HR FINGERS DOWN AND TO THE SIDE RYTHMICALLY.
PETER’S FACE IS VERY BORED.  THEY CONTINUE MOURNFUL DISPLAY FOR ABOUT TEN MORE SECONDS.  PETER SUDDENLY CRASHES HIS HANDS DOWN ON THE PIANO.  ANGRLY HE TAKES HIS JACKET OFF AND MARCHES OVER TO VERDAD.  HE RIPS THE MASK OFF HER FACE REVEALING A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMAN.  VERDA IS SHOCKED.
CUT TO:
B&W: BROTHER PROTECTOR AND VERDA IN SMALL ROOM.  VERDAD HAS PILLOWCASE OVER HER HEAD AND IT IS RIPPED OFF BY BROTHER PROTECTOR.  VERDAD IS FRIGHTENED.
                        VERDAD
              What’s happening?

                        BROTHER PROTECTOR:
              It’s time for you to give.

BROTHER PROTECTOR PUSHES VERDAD ONTO A TABLE

                        BROTHER PROTECTOR
              Give all for god and country.

                        VERDAD
              No… no… no!

PETER SLIPS THE ROPES OFF VERDADS WRISTS AND ANKLES.  HE TEARS THE COWL REVEALING A CLASSICALLY DRESSED DANCER.  VERDA IS FRIGHTENED.
                        VERDAD
              What’s happening?

                        PETER
              It’s time.

MUSIC:  FASTER TECHNO BEAT CAN-CAN BEGINS

                        VERDAD
              Time?  Time for what?

                        PETER
              Time to live. 

                        VERDAD
              Is it safe?

PETER LOOKS UP AT HER AND SMILES

                        PETER
              No.

PETER PUTS OUT HIS HAND FOR HER TO TAKE.

                        PETER (CONT’D)
               But is it safer to stay?

VERDAD TAKES HIS HAND.  THEY RUN TO STAIR CASE.  A CLAXON BEGINS TO SOUND.

                   (V.O.)
Brother protectors security breech Ground floor.  Brother protector’s security breech ground floor.
           
                   DIRECTOR: (v.o.)
              Camera three off mount and follow.

CAMERA VIEW HAND HELD. BEGINS TO FOLLOW PETER AND VERDAD.  PETER AND VERDAD APPROACH A HALLWAY.

                   DIRECTOR: (V.O.)
              Ready four.  Take four.

PETER AND VERDAD APPEAR IN THE HALLWAY.  RUN TOWARDS DOOR.

                   PETER:
              We have to get out of here.

PETER TRIES TO OPEN DOOR BUT IT IS LOCKED.

                   VERDAD:
              There is another way out.  There has to be.

                   DIRECTOR: (V.O.)
              Ready five.  Take five.

SHOT OF BROTHER PROTECTOR FOLLOWING THEM.

                   DIRECTOR:
              Ready four.  Take four.

                   PETER:
              This way.

PETER AND VERDAD RUN TO FIND ANOTHER DOOR.

                   DIRECTOR:
              Ready six.  Take six.

SETTING: (CHEMISTRY BUILDING) PETER AND VERDAD APPEAR RUNNING DOWN A HALL.

                   VERDAD:
              Where are we going?

                   PETER:
              (Laughingly)We are getting out.

THE PAIR REACHES A STARICASE.

                   VERDAD:
              By going up?

                   PETER:
              Why not?

                   DIRECTOR:
              Ready five.  Take five.

BROTHER PROTECTOR RUNNING DOWN HALLWAY THEY JUST LEFT.  VERDAD LOOKS IN DIRECTION THEY JUST CAME FROM THEN STARTS TO RUN UP THE STAIRS. 

                   DIRECTOR:
              Ready six.  Take Six

                   VERDAD:
              You coming.

PETER SMILES AND FOLLOWS AS THEY GO UP THE STAIRS.

                   DIRECTOR:
              Ready seven. 

                   v.o.
              Brother protectors level two.  Brother
protectors level two.

                   DIRECTOR:
…Take seven.

(EXPERIMENTAL SCINCE BLD) OPEN ROOM WITH CATWALK PRESENT AND PLANTS HANGING DOWN.  AFTER A MOMENTS PAUSE

                   CAMERAMAN
              I can’t find them Sir.

                   DIRECTOR:
              Wait for it… Wait for it

SETTING.  PETER AND VERDAD STANDING BY A DOOR.

                   PETER:
              Give me that broom.

VERDAD GETS A BROOM THAT IS ON THE WALL NEXT TO THE DOOR.  VERDAD HANDS IT TO PETER.

                   VERDAD:
              Here.

PETER PLACES THE BROOM HANDLE THROUGH THE DOOR.

                   PETER:
              That should hold them.

PETER TRYS TO OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR.  IT MOVES A LITTLE, BUT SOME RESISTANCE GIVEN.

                   VERDAD:
              Not long… but long enough.

                   PETER:
              Let’s find our way out.

PETER AND VERDAD ENTER THE VIEW OF CAMERA SEVEN. RUN ACROSS HALLWAY AND DOWN STAIRS.

CUT TO:

BROTHER PROTECTOR BANGING AGAINST DOOR.

CUT TO:

BASE OF STEPS.  PETER EXCITED.

                   PETER.
              That door might be our way out.

VERDAD LOOKS BEHIND HER.

                   VERDAD:
              Should we take it?

                   PETER:
              We have to.

PETER GOES AND TRIES THE DOOR.  THE DOOR OPENS.  PETER STEPS OUTSIDE RUNS A FEW STEPS AND BECKONS VERDAD TO FOLLOW.


                   PETER:
              We made it.

CLAXION HEARD.
                  
V.O.
              External sercurity breech.  External
security breech.

CUT TO:

BROTHER PROTECTOR TRYING TO GET DOOR TO OPEN.

CUT TO:

OUTSIDE ESB.  PETER IS IN FOREGROUND WHILE VERDAD HESITANT IN DOORWAY.

                   VERDAD:
              Is it safe?

PETER LOOKS AROUND EXCITEDLY.

                   PETER:
The world is calling.  All you have to do is step out Verdad.  One step… and we will be free.  Verdad… you were meant to be free.

CG: TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES PLEASE STAND BY.

FADE UP:  PETER’S FACE IN FOREGROUND WITH BLOOD SMEARED ACROSS FOREHEAD.  VERDAD IS STUCK IN THE DOOR WITH THE GLASS DOOR CLOSED IN ON HER.  HEAVY BOOT OF BROTHER PROTECTOR ENTERS FRAME GRABBS PETERS HAND AND BEGINS TO MOVE HIS BODY OUT.

                    ANNOUNCEMENT:
               Well that was exciting, exciting indeed. 
But if you thought that was exciting, hold on to your chairs for Citizen Johnson, and her trained poodles.  Bow wow…
